Despite having the most technological advances in history to benefit our health and our day-to-day existence, life expectancy in the US recently dropped for the first time in decades. Greater caloric intake has played a role in the obesity epidemic, but virtually all critics agree that today’s sedentary lifestyles are the greatest factor in our declining health and well-being. Our couch potato ways are literally killing us.

Thousands of years ago, there wasn’t “an app for that.” Humans needed strength and endurance to survive and thrive. The humans of today may be fundamentally bigger and stronger than our ancestors and are infinitely more immune to disease, but we still don’t know what the human body is truly capable of and too many of us are wasting our physical gifts.
