Following its Shaw Rocket Prize Win, the Canadian Studio Continues to Strengthen its Family Content Division with Addition of Former TVO Executive
TORONTO (November 28, 2016) – Breakthrough Entertainment, a leading Canadian production and distribution studio announced today the recent addition to their executive team with the appointment of Suzanne Wilson, as Vice President, Family Entertainment. Wilson will join the team under Joan Lambur, Executive Vice President, Family Entertainment, Executive Producer who leads the award-winning family division at Breakthrough.
“Suzanne brings a wealth of experience in the family and children’s entertainment business and most importantly understands Breakthrough’s vision in growing and creating premium content for our broadcast partners,” says Joan Lambur.
Wilson’s hiring marks her return to Breakthrough Entertainment, where she held the position of Senior Administrator, Business Affairs from 2010 to 2013. More recently, she worked at TVO where she led the acquisitions of children’s media content for more than three years. Wilson was also instrumental in the development and launch of Centennial College’s Children’s Media post-graduate program.
Wilson earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television from Ryerson University and also has an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business. She has worked for a number of notable entertainment companies that include BBC Worldwide, Portfolio Entertainment, The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company, Lambur & Associates and the Chocolate Liberation Front in many aspects of the production, marketing and business affairs of children’s entertainment properties – from curriculum development to international distribution to licensing & merchandising.
